In Pennsylvania, except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming is necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as directcremation or immediate burial.

Traditional services are: basic services of funeral director and staff; transfer of body; embalming; cosmetology; dressing and casketing; use of funeral home for viewing; committal; hearse, lead/clergy car, flower car and or limo; casket of your choice; outer burial container or vault when necessary or chosen; register books; prayer cards and acknowledgement card of your choice; and burial clothing when needed.

Direct cremation services are: transfer of body; total care taken of the body; local transportation to crematory; necessary services of staff and authorizations; and receptacle for body.

Immediate burial services are: transfer of body; total care taken of the body; local transportation to cemetery; necessary services of staff and authorizations; and casket of your choice.

Forwarding of remains is: transfer of body; embalming; receptacle for body or casket of your choice; necessary local authorizations; and local transportation to airlines or railroad.

Personalization

Every funeral is different because no person is the same, from the type of casket, to the prayer cards, to the music that is chosen.We at Fitzpatrick’s have been personalizing funerals since 1920, by offering you choices.We have been doing DVD tributes since 2004, which we are able to play either in the Funeral Home or at place of your service. We have a sound system to play tapes or CDs. We print prayer cards with your prayer or vital information, and we can even put a picture on the cards for you. We will produce memory boards for you with pictures you want displayed.
